I love Drew Barrymore. She is really a naturally beautiful person. Even though "50 First Dates" could win the "Most Implausible Love Story Ever," I thought it was such a great movie! Anyways, this post isn't about my movie preferences, it is to get some quick beauty tips. Background on this issue: I have to say that falling in love with Shaune over the years has been a liberating experience. I know that he is going to love me on my cute days as well as my frumpy days. He sees me day-in-day-out with/mostly without make-up on. I used to be the kind of girl that swore I would always get dressed up. Now, I am lucky if I wear make-up more than once a week. Time to get back to basic beauty. I'm feeling a bit frumpy a bit too often.
Current Issue: I am looking for some quick, practical beauty tips to help me out. I like to have a fresh face...not into wearing heavy loads of makeup. Nice base tan. Spunky jewelry and classic clothes. So, if you have any great beauty products/tips please share them! I am not hesitant to spend a little money on great products, just need to know what they are :)
Let's leave no Beauty Stone unturned, ladies. Spill it.

#1 I LOVE Drew Barymore too. She is totally my favorite. I watched Everafter when my grama was here and I was so thrilled b/c I had forgotten how much I loved her.
K, so my favorite self tanner is Jergens. That mixed with a little real sunshine makes me feel way better. When my face is tan/has some color, I don't need to wear base, which makes for a more natural look.
I LOVE clinique's mascara. Also their eye make up remover is FABULOUS!--although I don't get to use it very much b/c I don't wear make-up half as much as I use to!
I wonder if you are after the abercrombie and finch look. I know some one who is a model and used to work for them. Apparently the look they want is "I just woke up looking this beautiful today." :-)
As far as makeup goes, I agree with Summer about Clinque Mascara, although it's been years since I treated myself to some. My favorite face makeup is SheerCover. Why? Because I hate foundation! Sheercover is all powders and doesn't rub off on you, your baby or your husband:-) It's also quick to apply. You can buy it at Bed Bath and Beyond. A month's worth lasts me 3 months. Lastly, if you want skin advice I can email you some. Randy's birthday present to me was micro-dermabrasion consultation (my teenage years were cruel to my skin). I learned some fairly inexpensive ways to help your skin from an Aesthetician. I didn't know it was so doable. Good Luck Courtney:-)
I got my eye shadow tatooed on last year and I really like it. When I am not wearing make-up it still looks like I have a little something on! I also like it when we are boating and such because my eyes always look somewhat done up. I think if you have a little liner and a little mascara, you look 100% better than no make-up at all! And I don't wear face make-up (cover-up) so I can't help you there. A good tan works great for me!!!
rroaaoThanks for the comment on by blog. I love those couches too, but unfortunately we are still living at my inlaws home and they are theirs! I have inquired as to where they got them though, and the locations was RC Willy!
No, I don't think your name is rroaao! Not sure what happened there!
Jamie, I tried to leave a comment on your blog, but it won't let me. Here is what I wrote :)
Good idea about going private, I've been considering that as well. My email is court.wallace@gmail.com.
Also, that is SO cool that you got your eyeshadow tattooed!! Will you please blog an entry about that experience and include some pictures?? I would TOTALLY love to know more about that...seems like something that would be a fabulous, effortless way to always be beautiful!
Court,
I just love reading your posts. I agree with your friend Summer when she recommends the Jergens self tanner. I use it and really like the results. I think they're quite natural looking and it's not too expensive. I only use it in the morning, although it says to use it twice a day. I'm nervous of the orange face look and don't want to push my luck.
As far as other 'natural' beauty tips...you know me. If I could choose I'd go all day in a pony tail without any make-up...wait a minute...that's what I do almost everyday. So much for natural beauty in my neck of the woods.
Ok, if I could turn over a beauty stone...I would find shimmering/glossy lip gloss and mascara!! Those are my two make-up jewels.
P.S--The irony of all this is that I always think you look great...what are your tips??
Seriously...you always look beautiful!!! But I appreciate you doing a blog on this because it has been fun to read all the tips in people's comments...so good idea:) I would say my favorite thing I have found is Bare Minerals...I used to always wear liquid foundation...but I love Bare Minerals because it is a powder that gives you as light or heavy coverage as you want...you control it. And it has a Mineral powder it comes with that puts this glow to your face...I have just loved this stuff ever since I started using it! It totally evens out your skin tone and gives you a glow without looking like you have heavy base on.
I really don't have any potty training tips. I don't know what I would ever do if I had a child that pooped in their pants or peed in their bed. I just start by taking them to the bathroom every hour or so and then day by day increase the time and then I start testing them to see if they can tell me they need to go. I used the candy treats with both of them. I really have been lucky and don't think it is the norm. Paige only took about a month and Brynn two weeks. Just wait a couple years and I will be on here getting tips on how to potty train a little boy!
What a great post! First of all, Dexter is darling! I can't believe he is one! Holy cow! Your boys are SO CUTE! I also love Drew Barrymore...I always have...so love that, too. Beauty tips? I have a friend who got her make up tatooed on, and it looks awesome, and that would be super cool! She said it didn't hurt too bad...so that would rock! I love getting my eyebrows waxed...I always feel so much better when it's done professionally. I think a facial every so often would be so good for the skin, too! Maybe you could trade optometrics with a spa and get hooked up!:) Other than that, I'm not one to ask since I didn't start wearing make up until AFTER Bee was born! Is that so bad? I'm all about natural beauty as much as possible. Sometimes all I do is put on some mascara and nothing else. I hope more and more comments pop up! What a great post. And by the way, you are super beautiful and don't need anything! But, I understand that feeling of wanting a change or something to boost you...I totally hear you! But you are a super model!:)
I love this post! You are so fun! First off, you need to spill the beans on how you keep up your super model body and how you have awesome hair all the time!
Here is my secret. I have been getting pedicures because my feet struggle alot. Once my feet are taken care of, then I feel like other things just fall into place.
After all these years, I am still in love with the Mary Kay facial products. when I need a fresh face, I will get my MK products out. I also love their microderma (sp?) set. I feel like a million bucks after I use it... so refreshing!
I'll have to agree with Luisa. I started using bare minerals about a year and half ago and love it. It feels so light yet really helps your face glow. I got the foundation starter pack and am still using it. Of course I don't use make-up every day. Anyways the starter kit comes with 3 powders and I think a couple of brushes. One powder is the foundation(spf 15), the second is like a bronzer it's called warmth (love this one, I can look tan all year long) and the third is mineral veil (kind of brings all the powders together and sets your face. Love them all. So glad I switched.
Also for Christmas my sister spoiled me and got me a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. Love this stuff. I use it as blush. There is a few different shades. I like the rose. Each compact has like 5 shades of color with shimmer. You just run your brush over them all to get great color on your cheeks.
P.S. I want, want, want a new camera. It's on my wish list. I have a really old digital camera. It's only like 3 megapixals. Nothing special.
As for ww, I'm still trying to eat the same foods, just not counting my points. I totally recommend it to anyone that needs to shed a few prego pounds. It worked great for me!
Courtney,
I have to say that I discovered Bare Minerals a few months ago and absolutely LOVE IT! I hate wearing foundation and tons of makeup and I'm not crazy about the caked on look, so this stuff is perfect for me! You can actually order it cheaper on the Home Shopping Network or that other shopping network that I can't remember the name of. Anyway, it's great stuff and I won't use anything else!
Brandy
Ok, I kinda feel out of place saying this but I also have a beauty tip for you. I have been use baking soada to exfoliate my skin. It work on your face, back, arms, wherever. I really like that it because it is really gentle, which is nice because I have sensitive skin and it is super cheap ta-boot. I have use arm and hammer and no-name brand and they both work the same. Oh and if you were wondering where this beauty tip originated, I read it on Lifehacker about a year ago and thought I should give it a try. So that is my tip...I guess I know why my nickname at work is "Metro". So what if my "Hair looks better done up with mouse and gel", oh wait I don't have any hair. Never mind.
