My mom did audra's cake last summer that was fondent. She might have some tips. I'll try to get to her to leave some suggestions in comments.
Well, I made a fondant cake a couple weeks ago for my sils shower. My advice: use marshmellow fondant, & work plenty in advance on any thing you can. be sure to do a trial run b/f, especially if you haven't made one b/f. call me and I will help as much as I can. i put pictures of my cake on my blog. it turned out pretty good for my first one ;)
