The Ring

How does it go? "One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them..." Ok, maybe that is a little dark and dramatic :) But, this story takes place 3 months ago in our little apartment back in the Red Cliffs area. I was doing my very most monotonous task...the dishes. As I was placing a cup in the cupboard, a shiny thing fell into my sink with a "clanck!" I looked down to see a beautiful diamond ring!!! Wow!! Now I know what the children of Isreal felt like when manna came from heaven!!! It was amazing!! I got all excited, but then had my more practical side kick in...I needed to find the owner of this ring. I called the apartment managers to see if anyone had put in a "Lost and Found" request for that...nothing. Apparently three truckers lived in our apartment before we did. So, I called the police and they came to pick it up. I was kind of sad to see that beautiful ring go. Oh well.
A week later, same place, same person, same monotonous task putting the same cup in the same cupboard, and out falls the wedding band to the engagement ring!!! I take the same route and call the police...only this time, no one answers my call, no one calls me back, and no one from the Police Dept. comes to get the ring. Eventually, I got a hold of the detective in charge of the ring. He tells me to call back on Feb. 5th to see "if there has been any activity on the item." I call him, and no "activity" has happened. Translation: I got the rings!! Isn't that crazy?? I love that this happened to me. Sometimes, life just feels so busy, and yet so normal, that to have something happen like this to someone like me just totally rocked my world!! My little housewife suburbia fairy tale just got a little bit exciting :) SO cool! Now, I just need to find someone who wants to get engaged...what would you do with these rings?? (P.S. This is a picture I took of the ring after I had taken it to a jewelry appraiser who said "It is a mid-range diamond with no major inclusions, about 1/3 of a carat, irregular princess cut, set in 14k gold.")

I am in love with that story! It is like a fairytale! Maybe put an add on craigs list or something and see if you can get thousands and thousands for it. It deserves thousands because it is like a miracle ring that brings good luck.
Maybe you shouldn't have moved from that place... what else would have fallen out of that cupboard? Remember that book "Indian in the Cupboard?" you could totally do a new "bling" version of that story...
