Why?

Why do people go to the eye doctor? I've been pondering this question. Over the last 2 years we have worked hard to build Clear View Eye Care. I have had a vision of what I wanted the practice to be. The trick is, if I want to have a sustainable business it is not about what I want it is about what the customer wants. So what makes you want to go to the eye doctor?

I go when I start to feel like I'm not seeing as clearly or when my glasses/frames get too beat up. Aaron goes when he starts to get headaches and/or I tell him he's reading too slow since he's trying to make out the words. Honestly though, because I'm impatient and cheap - I go to Lens Crafters b/c I've found its cheaper & quicker than dragging my butt to the doctor in his office and then paying his overpriced rates (this is one doc in particular, not saying you're place is this way). Anyway, that's what I know.

I lose a pair of glasses like every 6 months, so I constantly have to go get a new pair of glasses. In fact, I just lost a pair on Friday. Too bad I'm no where near St. George. The pics of your practice sure look nice and professional; your logo is pretty snappy too.

Having worked as a technical salesman, for a little bit, I always had to remind myself that all successful businesses take time to grow a loyal customer and clientele base. When my dad opened up his 2nd health food store in 99, he wasn't expecting to break even for 5 years, and it took him about that long before he was breaking even let alone making money at it. Good luck on growing the business, I’m jealous of not being on my way towards growing my own business, but I haven’t found my niche yet. If we are make it through St. George in the next little bit, I'll have to stop in and get a "back up pair" in anticipation of losing yet another future pair.

Adam goes yearly for a new prescription and I'm avoiding going b/c then I'll have to be old and get glasses. My eyes aren't bad just not excellent like they used to be. We would stick with a doctor who answered questions in layman's terms and, this sounds simple, but sends reminder cards in a year (like the dentist does). A simple, remember me, I take care of your eyes, not the guy from the phone book or that guy at Sam's Club.
Hope it helps!

Don't hate me for not going to the eye doctor. I'm in the denial phase.
